Pantera! Monday Machine

On my way home from work, driving through Escondido, I was passed by a rumbling green Pantera. This is a very rare cat indeed. The De Tomaso Pantera is an Italian sports car sold in America by Lincoln motor company in the early 1970s. Altogether, about 7,000 were produced. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Tomaso_Pantera I was reminded I had…

Late 40’s Ford Police Cruiser Monday Machine #Photo

There were so many cars at the 2023 Temecula, California, Rod Run in May that clamored for attention! But I found this 1949-1950 police cruiser from Ford to be rather interesting. I hope you like it. There is a YouTube video about a similar car here: https://youtu.be/Uc_kTkCq2XU

(updated!) Unkown Monday Machine #photo

This is a pretty cool car, but I don’t know what it is! Last seen in Oceanside, CA. (UPDATE) I found the car online. This is a Pontiac Catalina. And it looks like it is a 1963. The 1962 Catalina had the headlights side-by-side. In 1963 the headlights were stacked. The 1964 grill ran onto…

Sonett III Monday Machine #photo

I found this restored Saab Sonett III (AKA Saab 97) at Pacific BMW Collision Center in Glendale. Saab sold over 8,000 Sonetts from 1970-1974. The sign says over 400 hours of work put into the restoration. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_Sonett#Sonett_III

Four sunglass holders!

I had a 2019 Lexus ES350. It was a beautiful car. But it always bothered me that a $50,000 car didn’t have a place for sunglasses. I traded it for an Accord. Meanwhile, my work van has FOUR sunglass holders! Go Chevy!

Tiny House on a Truck #photo

You’ll see a wide variety of things if you drive in California. I spotted this old Ford pick-up truck heading South on I15. The camper shell is a good-looking little house!
